All MkIV TDIs came factory with a very nice belly pan which covered the entire underside of the engine bay. The existence of this pan is vital to keeping salt, dirt and corrosion to a minimum. Cars without this plate tend to suffer more frequent failures in engine components. However, the plastic pan gets easily beat up.
We made this aluminum replacement as an upgrade and cheaper alternative to the plastic OEM. It gets installed and removed identically to the plastic OEM pan using the OEM screws and screw locations. And around 5 pounds its easy to lift too.
No modifications necessary, cheaper and stronger than OEM.
