5w40 Castol EDGE Turbo Diesel motor oil is compatible with VW speficiation 505.00 and 505.01. It also meets most of the newest Mercedes 229.51 and BMW LL-04 oil specification for diesel motors including those with Diesel-Particulate-Filters (DPF). Castrol labels this oil as a "fully synthetic motor oil" and it is manufactured & bottled in Italy.
