Cable actuated hose clamp pliers are the best way to remove the spring-style clamps used on automobiles. Spring clamps are used most often for intake and intercooler tubing as well as on coolant lines.
The handle is connected to the squeezing mechanism through a cable, allowing you to access and remove clamps in hard to reach or tight areas. Much safer than using standard pliers as your hands are safely away from the clamp. These clamps also have multiple locks to hold the clamp open without needing to maintain pressure on the handle.
These hose clamp pliers have a double sided head design. The largest struggle with spring clamps is that when they are not attached to something the tangs can be too far apart to fit into any pliers of cable pliers. We choose this model because it features a double-sided clamping area - one side is the standard opening while the opposite site is a extra-wide opening for large or overly retracted clamps. This is the only model we have ever seen that features this. This model also has a nicer, textured grip which works well even with oily gloves.
