.681 5th gear set for Volkswagen 02A and 02J transmissions. Set includes large gear (02D 311 158) and small gear, (02D 311 361).

All North American TDI's from 1996 through 2003 came with a .756 5th gear set. The .681 gearset drops RPMs in 5th gear by 11%.

The .681 gearset will work with the NA BEW motored MK4 PD vehicles but cruise control functionality may be lost.

Transmission Cover Gasket is available below (it's shown in the image but not included unless you request it) if you want to replace that when replacing the gears.
