What our customers say...

5 Stars, at least so far. Was on highway and car just shut down. Car would restart and idle, but would not run at speed for an extended period without shutting itself down again. Did this a few times (got me home at least) and finally started throwing a P0727. I have replaced the part, took it for a test drive and this seems to have solved the problem. Fingers remain crossed. One word of advise, at least from my experience. I bought a new bolt and a spare o-ring (06A906445) sold on this sight. Glad I did. The green o-ring that came with the part just would not go. Could not get the sensor to seat at all. Tried wd40, grease and crowbar for some gentle pressure and nothing worked. Greased the reddish-orange o-ring I bought, slid it onto sensor, put sensor in and gave a slight twist with a bit of hand pressure and Bingo, Bango, Bongo and Erving... Sensor slid right into the socket.

Car took more cranks than normal to turn over. VAG-COM scan showed code for Engine Speed Sensor (crankshaft position sensor). Ordered this part when became available, and a new O-ring OEM Number: 06A906445 and a new VW bolt. Bolt is a 12-point 9mm, didn't have that socket but a crappy no name 3/8th socket did fit and worked. Car fired right up! Subsequent starting was quicker and more positive. Thanks idparts for keeping my ride alive and avoiding the stealership.

Works great. Heads up, the bolt is an external spline head. I used a 12pt 9mm and it worked. The thread of the bolt is M7x1.0 20mm long. I swapped mine out for a standard bolt, washer and copper anti seize. Put a little motor oil on the o-ring and use a pry bar from the under side to push the sensor in. Do NOT try to use the screw to seat the sensor.

The o ring was leaking oil so I just replace the whole sensor. Good part.

Perfect replacement. Better quality cable than OEM.
