Hydraulic cooling fan for the 2007-2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD diesel.  This fan run by power steering fluid that is pressurized by the power steering pump. 

This is unforutunately a common failure item and will cause poor air conditioning performance or cause the A/C system to turn itself off due to overpresurization.  In some instances the fan will leak power steering fluid as well, leading to low fluid level and potential pwoer steering problems.
