The 6.0L EGR cooler is notorious for failure. A failed EGR cooler can introduce coolant into the engine oil, resulting in a sludge that clogs oil passages and leads to complete engine failure. Replacing the OE cooler with a more durable design is the most important upgrade you can make to your 6.0L powerstroke.
