Rear lower control arm for Liberty CRD.
If you have owned your truck since new, or at least since 2011, you might remember a recall that was done on the Libertys for the rear control arms. The issue is that the bracket that secures the rear control arm to the rear sway bar rusts and breaks off, leaving the truck nearly impossible to keep under control, especially at high speeds.
The recall involved replacing the rear control arms, but, with the SAME DESIGNED PART. The the replacement part still suffers from the same problem where the sway bar bracket rusts off! All the recall did was literally push the problem down the road a few years until the truck was old enough it wasn't Jeep's liability.
To fix this MOOG released an improved design where the bracket to the sway bar is internal to the part and cannot rust off. The arm is now made with a larger boxed steel structure in addition to upgraded, stronger bushings. These rear arms are easy to install, so there is no reason to drive with the failure-prone, weak rear control arms on your Jeep.
