Strut & Shock Options:

Koni STR.T - Koni's latest product line, designed as a lower cost upgraded damper. They are low pressure gas dampers, non-adjustable, and are an excellent OE replacement.

Koni Special ACTIVE - Next generation of premium shock absorbers that offer superior handling without compromise. It is the latest advancement in the KONI product portfolio. Utilizing the most recent generation of KONI’s patented Frequency Selective Damping technology, it controls large body motions and cornering forces but smooths expansion joints and rough roads for improved comfort.

Koni Yellow(Sport) - Low pressure gas and twin tube hydraulic damper. They are the best performing shock and handling damper set by Koni. Unlike most other Koni dampers, the front struts are externally adjustable when installed and the rears can be adjusted for rebound damping before installation.

Choose your model configuration below.  Configurations include:

  • Traditional Configurations - for Golf, Jetta Sedan, New Beetle, and Sportwagen options include OE rate springs and your choice of Koni Strut and Shocks.
  • HD Configurations - Sportwagen owners can select an HD option that combines Sportwagen rear towing springs with Tiguan front springs, resulting in a 1.5 inch front lift and a 2+ inch rear lift (when unloaded). 

Optional Upgrades:

  • Front and rear mounts are often worn out and should be replaced whenever refreshing the suspension. (Available as an option below)
  • Bump stops protect the shock from damage during large impacts like potholes.  If they are in good condition they can be re-used, but they should be replaced if cracked or degraded
  • The rear shock mount option includes new mounts, new bump stops and new shock boot dust covers.
  • Installation bolt kit includes all the major hardware that secures the suspension to the vehicle.  It is recommended to replace whenever removed, but certainly replace if corroded/rusty.

This is not a lowering kit. This will keep stock ride height.
We strongly recommend the sportwagen lift springs along with the KONI Special Active shocks. This combination rides better and handles better than factory. The additional ride height helps getting in and out, loading the cargo area in addition to helping avoid road debris. We've received universally extremely positive feedback on that setup.

I have an Mk6 (2013) Jetta wagon and found that unloaded it sat quite a bit lower than my previous MK4 Jetta. After being loaded down it SAGGED. I do quite a bit of cross country driving loaded down and some rough roads come along with my hobbies. I decided to get the HD springs (Towing Rear and Tiggy front) along with the koni special active struts all the way around. I installed them myself, the backs were super easy, maybe 30 min each side, and the fronts were a total pain and it took me an entire day. After putting them on got an alignment at Pepboys Auto and they got everything within spec with no issue. I put over 5k miles on the car in the first 2 weeks of having them on and had no issues at all. The car sits mostly level unloaded (slightly higher in the back) and looks fantastic. Not too tall, but no longer so dang low. The ride is perhaps slightly... sportier (I hesitate to say stiffer because I feel like that is a negative thing for me). I really like it. Even unloaded it is not unreasonably stiff or anything of that nature. I believe it sits about 1.5 to 2 inches higher than stock. Fantastic upgrade and I highly recommend it.

We bought our 1st suspension kit (lift) when my daughters ‘09 Sportwagens springs failed (one was in 3 pieces). About to install 2nd lift kit on one of our Sportwagens. We installed the 1st kit on my daughters 2009 Jetta Sportwagen, it was awesome it looked good and drove better then stock, but she sold it to buy an newer lower mileage Sportwagen after they released the buybacks from dieselgate. I hope to install the kit on all our Sportwagens depending on price and availability.

Awesome! Had broken both original passenger side springs (front & rear), went with the tow/lift springs for the replacement. No longer drag the hitch coming out of steep entrance ways. With kayaks, bikes, and hitch loaded, the car isn\'t riding on the ground anymore. Still maintains excellent ride quality, not harsh at all.

Great ride. This kit lifted my front end 2-1/2” and the rear 2-3/4”. No more bounce, that I didn’t realize I had. 150k on original suspension and hope to get close to that out of this set up.
