Koni STR.T Struts for Volkswagen Jetta TDI, Golf TDI and New Beetle TDI on the A4 chassis, also known as the MkIV Jetta and MkIV Golf. Also fits VW Jetta Wagon.

The STR.T for Volkswagen is Koni's latest product line, designed as a lower cost upgrade damper for stock and lowered cars. They are low pressure gas dampers, non-adjustable, and are an excellent OE replacement. Lifetime warranty.

The Koni STR.T matches well with stiffer, OE height springs such as the Shine Real Street Springs.

This Koni STR.T will fit both gas and diesel VW MkIV Jetta, Golf and New Beetle between 1999 and 2005 in addition to the VW Jetta Wagon 2001-2005.

We strongly recommend replacing the strut mounts and bearings when installing new struts. Available as an option below.

What our customers say...

I bought these shocks 2 years ago for my 03 golf. My initial thought was pretty good but wanted to get some time with them before writing a review, I used the factory springs with these by the way. After two years of use i can honestly say that these shocks are pretty great at everything, they are pretty compliant with harsh roads where its not rattling your teeth out, but when you hit hard bumps they do a great job at dampening the blow and soaking up the bump. In turns the car turns very flat and predictable and very sporty feel to them. overall very great shocks for my daily driver that i drive aggressive and like to corner carve with. My only complaint is that now 2 years later my shocks are extremely rusted, to the point where one has very little paint left on it. Pretty disappointing in that regard, after spending good money on them and having them look so good new to have them look this bad only 2 years later is kind of ridiculous especially since the stock 11 year old factory shocks i took off of the car looked newer then these do now. Luckily these have a great warranty so i know that if and when these rust through they will be replaced, i just with that these didn't look like the worst part on my 13 year old car.

Very noisy struts. Squeaks and groans.

Bought these for my daily driver 04 Golf, figured entry-level Koni's would lack the performance and adjustability of their better lines, but still be decent quality. I was initially impressed with their performance, but I think that pretty much always happens when you replace a blown out old part with a new one, regardless of quality. However, 9k miles later one of them was gushing oil and the car was riding like crap. Contacted Koni, they sent me a new pair (so they'd match left to right) and I spent the time to remove my several-months-old struts, return them for the credit, and install new ones. Then had to schedule and pay for an alignment, again. The car rode nicely for a while, then seemed to really be riding like hell. About 20k later, they've leaked all the oil out again. Gee, thanks guys. I expect to get *another* set of these crap struts for free, but I'll again have to spend a half day swapping them and schedule and pay for a third alignment. At this point what I've spent on fresh alignments is equal to what I would have paid to just get Reds or Yellows to begin with... and that's ignoring the time and hassle. All to have another set of mediocre struts that I don't expect to last. Reading the forums will turn up dozens of the same experience. STAY AWAY.
