This specialty counter holding tool for both PD series engines & EA288 series engines.

On the 2004-2006 PD series TDIs, including BEW, BHW and BRM engine codes, this tool is used to counter-hold the camshaft hub so that you can remove the hub from the cam.  It is not required to remove the camshaft sprocket during the timing belt job, however.

On 2015 EA288 engines, including CRUA and CVCA engines, this tool is used to counter-hold the high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) when losening the HPFP sprocket.  This tool is required for the timing belt change on EA288 engines.

This METALNERD version does not have a long fixed handle rather it is used with a 1/2" drive breaker bar or long-handled ratchet in any configuration you like.
