I don't know about fitment in the oem application, but it says in the description things will need to be modified for a/c to fit. This is a nice pan for engine swaps using the ALH motor. This pan is slightly more shallow than the oem one allowing for better crossmember clearance. With the steel pan I can also have a new drain welded on in a more convenient place. Went on well and even used the gasket. With some gasket sealant.

This is a great pan, you will have to clearance your A/C compressor with a Dremel. Put one bolt in it and swing it out of the way, grind a little, check fit, and repeat till it fits.

I would give 3 out of 5 Stars. Some modifications were needed as specified, but it also seems to hold 1/2 qt less oil and the oil drain plug leaked, I replaced it with a standard VW plug.

Nice idea, but apparently precision design and manufacturing is hard to do. Cast flange is straight, unlike the original which has a slight taper. As a result, on the A/C compressor side: 1. You have to grind down the aluminum flange to clear the A/C compressor mount 2. Remember how you had to drop to a 1/4 drive 10mm to access that one bolt? Well now the clearance is so tight the bolt won't even fit. Cast flange is too tight on two socket bolt wells -- bolts will not seat. Didn't discover this until I already applied the gasket maker. 3. You must re-bore/grind seat clearance for one drain-side socket bolt and one of those hard-to-reach ones at the bell housing (oh, and be sure to do this BEFORE you put it on the car) Cast flange roughly matches 16mm bolt locations at the bell housing, you can get the back one in, however the bore and tap on the two forward bolts is short by a crescent moon shape (at least 2mm off). Thus: 4. Two of the 16mm bolts at the bell housing cannot be replaced. So total of 4 bolts will not fit -- two of them (16mm at the bell housing) rather critical to the whole not working loose as I found out. The two bolts at the corners on the passenger side are extremely tight -- probably needs some adjustment there too. Going to try to take it off and do these modifications, but without the 16mm bolts cantilevering the whole thing at the bell housing I'm probably just wasting oil. Buyer beware.
