Solved my problem - a flapping, squealing, and prematurely wearing accessory belt. Took some patience and finesse to pull off the old pulley - used the metalnerd serrated bit set to do the job. Used PB Blaster to loosen the old pulley. Soaked it over night and then used a breaker bar. New pulley went on easily and is operating well. Put on a new belt. No more flapping or squeaking. My vehicle - 2011 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen TDI. I buy all these parts again. Be gentle with the metalnerd tool.
Changed this as a precaution as other VWs I take care of had them go at a similar mileage and found that mine had mostly seized but showed no symptoms. Definitely glad I replaced it when I did.
Have had two of these fail in the last 6 years ( 6 VW TDIs probably 300,000 miles) Now keep one on hand with the tool so I can replace ASAP when one fails and avoid damage/ wear on alternator.
The dealer did not have it in stock so they hit me for $900 to replace alternator with pully
Pefect fit. No problems installing. Has been installed for about 30k miles. No issues..
Went on nice and easy, once the old one was removed (Pro Tip: Use a cheater bar :-D )
