I only needed it for a few minutes, but without it cam pulley removal would have been difficult. I thought about making a tool, but then realized that would have taken hours and there would have been multiple prototypes and much frustration. Some people online were suggesting I could just hit the pulley with a brass hammer, which although it sound fun, experience tells me it will lead to a bent pulley. Anyway, I recommend this tool. It makes life easier.
