Factory fresh VNT-17 turbos from Garrett made for the PD engine in A4 cars (engine code BEW). The VNT-17 is a significant upgrade from the original Borg-Warner KP-39 turbo, allowing you to run higher boost levels and, many believe, providing superior durability. This turbo was original equipment on the PD150 Jetta and Golf in Europe. The VNT-17 bolts up exactly like the stock turbo, fits the stock exhaust flange, and does not require an adapter pipe to the intercooler. Installing this turbo requires replacing your EGR cooler lower pipe or deleting the EGR cooler.
The turbo comes with complete installation hardware, and there is no core charge required on this turbo. Oil Feed Line Seals are not included with this turbocharger. If you purchase a new oil feed line it comes with new seals. If you are going to re-use your existing oil feed line you need to purchase the feed line seals seperately below. We recommend replacing the oil feed line to limit the chances of leftover contamination or clogging damaging the new turbocharger.
Available as an add on is the revised EGR cooler pipe that will allow you to connect the EGR cooler to the exhaust manifold on this VNT-17. Basically, this pipe allows you to keep your EGR cooler functional.
