Thread repair kit by TIME-SERT for repairing the injector hold-down bolts on the OM647, OM648 and OM642 engine.
The injector hold down bolts are a fine M6 thread that is easily stripped if there debris in the threads. The injector bolt MUST BE REPLACED every time it is removed or it will likely strip the threads in the head as well. Purchase new seals and injector bolts below.
TIME-SERT kits repair stripped threads by cleaning out the old threads and inserting a high-strength insert. This kit includes a proper size drill bit and an extra long reach tap as a normal-length tap will not reach the threads in the head.
Includes 5 steel inserts, perfect for the T1N Sprinter 5-cylinder engine. Additional inserts available if needed for the 6 cylinder OM648 in the E320 CDI or the 3.0L V6 diesel OM642. See full fitment listings below.
