Switchable vs. Non-Switchable Water Pump Information

The factory pump is a switchable style, however a non-switchable pump can be used and is both less expensive and less prone to failure. Read more about switchable pumps on IDParts Blog - All About Switchable Water Pumps

IMPORTANT INSTALLATION WARNING - due to tight clearances inside the block this water pump must be installed straight and NOT tightened down using the water pump bolts. Using the bolts to snug the pump to the block risks the pump getting stuck on an inside edge of the block, which will then cause immediate water pump failure and potential damage to the entire timing system.

As another reviewer said, get the bolts for the harmonic balancer. There are a handful of videos on YouTube detailing this, and with the FSM from ErWIN, it\'s very straightforward. Watch out for the DPF diff. press. sensors. They will snap super easily, so make sure you unbolt them from their mounts before you even look at the hoses. You can leave them in place, but make sure to unbolt them. If you break them, you\'ll find out on the first regen after the belt when the car goes into limp mode. If it goes, it is covered under the extended warranty.

Good Timing belt kit with INA rollers. Unfortunately I did not realize it did not come with 4 bolts for the harmonic balancer N91048804 or the 2 bolts for the dog bone N91066101 and N91167101. The harmonic balancer bolts are torque to yield and have to be removed to replace the belt. The dog mount has to be removed to raise the engine enough to get the engine mount bracket out. I will purchase again but I have to ensure I get all the hardware necessary to do the job.
