This pulley attaches to the crankshaft in 1Z engines and drives the serpentine belt. It has a rubber isolator built in which can get hard or out of round and cause your serpentine belt to vibrate. Replacement is relatively simple and should take about an hour. This is the 'improved' version of the pulley, not the one currently pictured.
