Switchable vs. Non-Switchable Water Pump Information
The factory pump is a switchable style, however a non-switchable pump can be used and is both less expensive and less prone to failure. Read more about switchable pumps on IDParts Blog - All About Switchable Water Pumps
IMPORTANT INSTALLATION WARNING - due to tight clearances inside the block this water pump must be installed straight by hand before the bolts are inserted and tightened. DO NOT use the water pump bolts to draw the pump in flat. Doing so risks the pump getting stuck on an inside edge of the block, which will then cause immediate water pump failure and potential damage to the entire timing system.
