Note: If your valve cover is leaking you must replace the entire cover, as gaskets alone are not available.

The integral gasket by VW was a horrible design, but ID parts provided a OE product at a fraction of the dealer price that makes this maintenance item less of of a pain. I recommend the new hardware with this if you still are hanging on to the original for peace of mind. Don’t skip the RTV on the corners!
