This turbo is from 170 HP Common Rail TDIs in Europe. It's larger than the stock turbo on the CBEA/CJAA TDIs in North America, and will allow more aggressive fueling than the stock turbo while keeping EGTs in the normal range. New, from Borg-Warner, and includes a one year, unlimited mile warranty against manufacturer's defects.
This turbocharger is shipped with the IDParts Turbocharger Install kit, including a spacer for the EGT probe so you can use your original probe with this turbo. We recommend replacing the oil feed line to limit the chances of leftover contamination or clogging damaging the new turbocharger. We have other install components available (below) including airbox to intake pipe and block-off plates.
Important Fitment Information
This turbocharger is not plug and play. It will not hook up to the stock inlet tube or low pressure EGR. The high pressure EGR port is also located on the opposite side as the stock turbocharger. Therefore, this turbocharger will require significant modification to install.
2009 Jetta TDI and 2009 Sportwagen TDI owners: Vehicles made before July 20, 2009 need to purchase a new "Turbo Outlet Dampener", available below. The outlet on this replacement turbo is NOT compatible with the OEM outlet dampener equipped on models made before July 20, 2009.
